HELLO, I'M KAIA..
Welcome to NOS Counseling.. I've been in private practice for 13 years and offer my expertise as an AASECT certified sex therapist and licensed professional counselor in Colorado.

I am invested in helping individuals, couples, and non-monogamous partners navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, parenting stress, or sexual concerns, I offer a supportive space to explore what’s holding you back, and how to move forward in a meaningful way.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in attachment and mindfulness-based therapy. I also integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and culturally sensitive practices to meet the unique needs of each client.

Therapy with me isn’t just about solving problems—it’s about helping you know and trust yourself more deeply. I bring empathy, insight, and a down-to-earth approach, shaped by my own lived experience and years of working through life’s complexities with others. Clients often tell me they feel truly seen and supported without judgment.
If you’re seeking inclusive, affirming therapy to heal, grow, and build stronger relationships- with yourself and others-I’d love to support you.

I’m passionate about helping people build healthy relationships—with themselves and others. My work is rooted in deep interests including human sexuality, LGBTQIA+ identities, healthy relationship dynamics, mindfulness, neuropsychology, and personal growth. I also have experience supporting individuals living with major mental illness and those seeking deeper healing through transpersonal or spiritually integrative therapy.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent almost a decade as a special education teacher and department chair in alternative high schools. I also served as an educational coordinator (director) of a residential school for children in state custody. These roles taught me how vital empathy, resilience, and stability are, especially for those navigating complex life circumstances.

As a parent of four children in different stages of life, I also understand the real-life challenges and joys of helping them become confident, self-reliant adults. Supporting parents is close to my heart. We all want to raise kids who feel secure and supported, and I’m here to help you find your own way through the ups and downs of parenting.

I believe that healing looks different for everyone. My goal is to help you process emotional pain, reconnect with your inner strength, and move toward a more peaceful, grounded, and meaningful life.

If any part of this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. I’d be honored to hear your story and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
